Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Claude code is often suggesting I press "ctrl-g to edit prompt in VS Code" or "ctrl-g to edit in VS Code", yet I don't even have VS Code.
Please make it stop!
What Should Happen?
I use IntelliJ, and it's connected to IntelliJ, so maybe it could offer to edit in that (or just nothing).
Error Messages/Logs
Steps to Reproduce
Use Claude Code (maybe particularly in plan mode?)
Claude Model
None
Is this a regression?
Yes, this worked in a previous version
Last Working Version
_No response_
Claude Code Version
2.0.55 (Claude Code)
Platform
Anthropic API
Operating System
Ubuntu/Debian Linux
Terminal/Shell
Terminal.app (macOS)
Additional Information
The Operating System question is a little tricky, as I'm running Claude in a docker container, in Terminal.app running on a Mac, and connected to IntelliJ with the back end in the container and the front end on the Mac.
