[BUG] Claude why I can't see ALL servers with /mcp ?

What's Wrong?

Installed the MCP servers, and they were installed properly. I also had Claude reinstalled them, and Claude confirmed they were properly installed. My claude.json file is correct. However, when I open Claude Code and do the /mcp command, it does not see all the servers. After wasting four hours with Claude and being told that they should show up and changing all sorts of things with my Claude.json files, I searched Reddit and found out with the /MCP command, I'll only see servers that are OAuth. All the other ones, I have to use "claude mcp list"

I really think that should be added to Claude's memory when people are having trouble with MCP servers. It was a big runaround for hours, and not once was that command ever mentioned. That's partly my fault too, but just saying.

What Should Happen?

Perhaps when somebody searches in /MCP and they don't see their servers, down at the bottom of the window you have some other text. There you could mention this other command: claude mcp list

This would save many users hours of time.

Error Messages/Logs

No errors to report, just servers were not showing up.

Steps to Reproduce

Install the MCP server "time" , This was one of them that did not show up when I did the /MCP command. However, it shows up when I do the command claude mcp list.
