[BUG] Severe Performance Degradation in Claude Code Terminal (10s Tasks Taking 40s+)

What's Wrong?

The terminal in Claude Code is experiencing significant delays. Tasks that normally finish within about 10 seconds now consistently take 40 seconds or longer. This slowdown occurs even with very simple commands.

What Should Happen?

Simple commands should complete within ~10 seconds as before

Error Messages/Logs

Commands take 40+ seconds

Sometimes the terminal appears to freeze temporarily

Performance drop is consistent across different projects
