Problem Statement
The very engaging synonyms for thinking (e.g., "Frolicking") are actually a cognitive burden since they need to be read to be recognised. Over time, that cognitive burden becomes annoying.
A simple solution is to use the word "Thinking..." instead of all the synonyms. That requires less neurone for humans to process.
An even better solution is to use a "spinning cursor" either as a repeating GIF or just a succession of characters such s "/", etc. It's better because it does not require verbal human processing. It just requires a human image match and the animation facilitates that match.
Summary: Frolicking is wonderful for the FIRST day, after that, let people choose a quieter option that lets them think more about problems and solutions rather than Frolicking

I agree 100%!! As a professional developer, this is the biggest turn-off for me using Claude Code. When I am deep in analytical analysis of a technical problem, all these goofy messages come across as insulting, distracting, irritating and childish. I am not a jr. high nerd geeking out with the latest buzzwords. I am trying to solve a technical problem, and this becomes a major turn-off. I find myself repeatedly going back to Cursor for this very reason. In Cursor I can see meaningful output explaining exactly what the LLM is thinking, and how it is arriving at the conclusions that are ultimately proposed. (ChatGPT does the same thing.)
Please get rid of the distracting nonsense and replace it with meaningful clues about the direction that the LLM is taking to solve the problem at hand! Or at the very least, provide an option to change this behavior.
If the target audience and market for Claude Code is professional developers, (which I think it is) please adjust your product to line up with the expectations and needs of professional developers. Right now it feels like you are implementing the product as a cool toy for nerds instead of a professional tool.

I second this. And I'll go one step further and suggest that having it describe what it's "actually doing" would even be better than the random verbs.
Because often times, I actually want to know what is happening. Instead of guessing whether I should pronounce Frolicking as FROLLICKING or FRO-LICKING.

+1 Please add an option to disable the verb dictionary and just say "Thinking.." . I tried putting this in the system prompt, but it didn't work.
