[BUG] Claude Code Browser - Persistent disconnection for Max subscribers requiring daily re-authentication

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Code Browser disconnects every 1-3 hours, requiring constant OAuth re-authentication. Despite successful login at claude.ai/code, the session expires rapidly (sometimes within minutes), making the tool unusable.

Error message received: "OAuth token has expired. Please obtain a new token or refresh your existing token."

This happens 5-10 times per day, disrupting all professional coding workflows. No automatic token refresh occurs.

What Should Happen?

OAuth session should persist for at least 24-48 hours without requiring re-authentication. Token refresh should happen automatically in the background, similar to other professional development tools. Max subscribers paying $200/month should have stable, uninterrupted sessions.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to claude.ai/code
  2. Complete OAuth authentication successfully
  3. Use Claude Code for 1-3 hours
  4. Session disconnects with error: "OAuth token has expired. Please obtain a new token or refresh your existing token."
  5. Required to re-authenticate via browser
  6. Cycle repeats multiple times per day
