Problem Statement
Agent view (claude agents) only lists sessions run by the local machine's background supervisor. A Remote Control session running on another machine on the same account (for example an always-on agent in tmux on a Mac mini) shows up in the Claude app, on claude.ai, and as a SendMessage peer from local sessions, but never in agent view on my laptop. To use it from the terminal I have to SSH to the other host and attach to its tmux pane.
Proposed Solution
Show the account's Remote Control sessions from other machines in agent view, marked as remote with their host name. Selecting one opens it the same way the app and web do: read the transcript, send prompts, see status (idle / busy / waiting for permission). Stop, rm and other lifecycle actions can stay local-only.
Alternative Solutions
ssh <host> -t tmux attach -t <session>: works, but outside agent view and needs a shell on the host.SendMessage/ a local relay session that forwards prompts: sends work but doesn't show the session, and a relay adds a second model per turn.- Running the session locally instead: not an option for an always-on host when the laptop sleeps.
Priority
Medium - Would be very helpful
Feature Category
Interactive mode (TUI)
Use Case Example
- An always-on Remote Control session runs on a home server (food logging, job runs, home-lab ops).
- On my laptop I open
claude agentsto see all my sessions. - The remote session appears with a "remote · <host>" tag next to the local background sessions.
- I open it, read what it did overnight and send it a prompt, without SSH.
Additional Context
Claude Code 2.1.300 on macOS. The session is already visible to the local machine as a Remote Control peer (ListAgents shows it as "Remote Control · idle"), so the data agent view needs seems to exist already.
