[A11y] macOS desktop app: session info adds three headings after every turn, in the way of VoiceOver heading navigation
Summary
I'm blind and use VoiceOver. In the macOS desktop app I move through Claude Code conversations by heading. A recent update added three headings after my latest message: Environment, Context and Connectors. I now land on them every time I go back to the end of the conversation.
Environment
- Claude desktop app for macOS 2.37337.1
- Claude Code 2.1.289
- macOS 26.6.1
- VoiceOver
What happens
The end of the heading list for one turn, read from the accessibility tree:
h2: You said: ...
h3: Environment .claude
h3: Context 35%
h3: Connectors 12 connected
Before this, the last heading on the page was Claude's latest reply. The level makes it worse. These are h3, the same level a ## heading inside a reply renders at, so jumping by heading level can't skip them either.
What would help
- Don't mark the session info as headings. A labelled group or region would keep it easy to find without putting it in the heading list.
- Or move it out of the way of the conversation, before it or behind one control.
For now I've had Claude put its reply headings a level lower, so VoiceOver's Quick Nav 4 jumps between replies. That works, but it shouldn't be needed.
