[GitHub integration] Claude GitHub App installed on org, but connector says “isn’t connected / only an owner can connect it”

What were you trying to do?

Use Claude Code cloud sessions and Projects on private repositories owned by a GitHub organization I'm a member of (write access).

What happened instead?

The Claude GitHub App is installed on the organization with access to All repositories. An org owner installed it directly on GitHub about 2 weeks ago, and confirmed it isn't suspended and has no pending permission requests.

In claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → GitHub:

• The Claude GitHub App section shows the org as "Needs reconnecting — Only an owner of [org] on GitHub can connect it."
• Check repository status on one of the org's repos says: "The Claude GitHub App on [org] isn't connected to Claude. Only an owner of [org] on GitHub can connect it."

Possibly relevant: my GitHub account was recently renamed. The connector page still lists my personal account under its old username, so the stored account link may be stale.

What I've tried

• Clicked Fix, then disconnected and reconnected GitHub in Claude while signed into GitHub with my (renamed) account. No change.
• Confirmed on GitHub that the installation exists and covers all repositories.
• /web-setup from the Claude Code CLI works ("Connected as <my username>"), and cloud sessions can clone the org's repos that way. So my GitHub access is fine; only the App link is broken, which blocks Projects on these repos.

Ask: please link the existing org installation to my Claude account, or refresh my stored GitHub link after the rename. If the org owner has to complete a specific step, please say exactly what it is. Happy to share the org name and installation ID privately.
