Problem Statement

Note: this was requested in #85882, which was closed by the inactivity bot (not declined), and the bot asked for a new issue if it's still relevant. It still is.

In the desktop app's Code tab there is no indication of whether Remote Control is on for the session I'm looking at. I can't tell at a glance whether I'll be able to reach the session from my phone before I walk away from the computer.

The VS Code extension already shows this in its status bar, and the app tracks the state per session (on / off / connecting), so the information exists. It just isn't displayed.

Proposed Solution

Show the Remote Control state of the open session in the status line below the prompt box, in the same block as the model, effort and context usage indicator. It should show at least on, off and connecting. Clicking it could open the Remote Control toggle, the way the model and effort entries open their pickers.

A per-row dot in the sidebar, as #85882 proposed, would be a good addition for seeing every session at once.

Alternative Solutions

Asking Claude in the session to look it up works, but only when I already suspect a problem. A mod can't do it either: the mod API doesn't expose the bridge state, only whether an individual message came from a Remote Control client.

Use Case Example

I leave a long task running and plan to check on it from my phone. The app has relaunched for an update since I started the session, and Remote Control may have been dropped (see #95407, #100694). With an indicator I'd see that before leaving instead of finding out from the phone.

Additional Context

Same request as #85882 (closed as stale). Related: #78429 asked for Remote Control status in the session lists and agent view (also closed as stale). #100945 is the same gap in the terminal's fullscreen renderer.
