Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues. The original report, #62482, was auto-closed as stale on 2026-06-28 without a fix and is now locked, so this is a follow-up.
  • [x] This is a single bug report.
  • [ ] I am using the latest version of Claude Code. Observed on 2.1.294 on the worker; the changelog for 2.1.295 and 2.1.296 has no related fix.

What's Wrong?

In a thread hosted by claude remote-control on a Linux machine, the Claude desktop app's / autocomplete lists only account-level skills (for example skill-creator, synced from claude.ai). None of the worker's own skills in ~/.claude/skills/ or commands in ~/.claude/commands/ appear.

The worker does load them. The session transcript has a skill_listing attachment with skillCount: 122 that includes all the custom skills, and sending the full name as a prompt (for example /rtl-flip hello) runs the skill correctly. Only the controller's autocomplete is missing them.

For anyone who relies on custom skills this makes Remote Control confusing: the menu looks empty, so users conclude the skills are not installed, and they have to memorize skill names, since there is no /help in the controller to list what the worker loaded.

What Should Happen?

The app's / menu for a Remote Control thread should list the skills and commands that the worker session actually loaded, the same way it does for a local session.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. On a Linux machine, add a custom skill at ~/.claude/skills/my-skill/SKILL.md.
  2. Run claude remote-control --spawn same-dir.
  3. In the Claude desktop app (Code tab), open a new thread on that machine.
  4. Type /my in the composer. my-skill does not appear; only built-in and claude.ai-synced skills do.
  5. Send /my-skill anyway. It runs, which shows the worker loaded it.

Is this a regression?

No, as far as I know. The same behaviour was reported in #62482 in May 2026.
