Bug Description
▎ This is a small thing, but it stuck with me. I asked Claude to find me a playlist for sophisti-pop, a fairly obscure 80s genre, to play in cliamp on my Linux setup. It didn't just grab the first search result. It sampled several YouTube playlists, built the list mostly from one made of official audio uploads, and left out one that was padded with full-album videos. It also merged the sources, removed duplicates, and cut a couple of tracks that didn't belong.
▎
▎ What I liked most was how it handled the borderline picks. It left in a few adjacent artists like Rick Astley and Pet Shop Boys because they fit the mood. It told me plainly that they were a stretch, and it didn't lecture me about genre purity.
▎
▎ I've had Claude work for days at a time on serious development tasks, and I know a playlist is about as mundane as a task gets. But this one impressed me more than most of that work, for reasons that are more emotional than technical. It felt like it understood what I wanted the music for, not just what I typed. Thanks.
