Problem Statement

In fullscreen mode, Claude Code decides per terminal whether a click without a modifier opens a link. There is no way to override that decision. On Ghostty it opens the link on every OS, because of the XTVERSION check, so on Linux a click to focus the window opens a browser tab. The fullscreen docs describe this as macOS-only.

Proposed Solution

CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_MOUSE_UNMODIFIED_LINK_CLICKS, read like CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_MOUSE:

  • 1: a link opens only with Ctrl/Cmd held
  • 0: a click without a modifier also opens it
  • unset: current terminal detection

Alternative Solutions

CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_MOUSE_CLICKS=1 works, but it turns off all click handling.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

Interactive mode (TUI)

Additional Context

Claude Code 2.1.296, Ghostty 1.3.2-dev on Fedora 44 (aarch64).
