What You Asked Claude to Do

In a static-website repo whose Open Graph image is an SVG (public/og-image.svg, exported to PNG), I asked (in Chinese):

用 codex 重新画 OG image 出三版候选 ("Redraw the OG image with Codex, give me three candidates.")

Earlier in the same session Claude had used the Codex CLI's built-in image generation to make product illustrations.

What Claude Actually Did

1. It ran codex exec three times with prompts telling Codex to use its image generation tool to make raster backgrounds, and planned to set the text itself in HTML.
2. I corrected it:

> ("Didn't I tell you to have Codex draw an SVG? You had it design with image generation.")

1. Claude read the negation the wrong way ("not SVG; let image generation design the whole card") and ran image generation again: three more raster cards, text included.

Both rounds came from the same assumption: "redraw with Codex" means Codex image generation, because that is how Codex had just been used, even though the asset being redrawn is an SVG file.

Expected Behavior

• Look at what kind of asset is being redrawn (an SVG in the repo) and have Codex write SVG candidates, or ask which way was meant.
• After a correction, especially a rhetorical one like 「不是叫你…」 ("didn't I tell you to…"), confirm the reading before running the same kind of job again.

Files Affected

None. Both rounds only wrote PNGs to a scratch directory; nothing in the repo changed.

Steps to Reproduce

1. In a session, use the Codex CLI (codex exec) image generation for some illustrations.
2. Ask Claude to "redraw <asset> with codex, three candidates", where <asset> is an SVG file in the repo.
3. Correct it with a rhetorical negation in Chinese (「不是叫你叫 codex 画 svg…」).
