Problem Statement

When I submit a prompt I see a ticking timer while the prompt is processing - 0s, 1s ... several minutes. I would like to have an option to hide this time from the view. I tried setting prefersReducedMotion option but that just reduces the frequency of updates to the session. The timer still shows up. The timer appears frozen but that is a separate issue tracked here: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/85972.

I would like a separate option to hide the timer completely. The loading style image on the terminal is sufficient for me to know that Claude Code is doing some work. The timer feels a bit distracting.

Proposed Solution

There should be a config option to turn off this timer.
