  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

In mods (the plugin hooks API, 2.1.293), $.config.list and $.config.set only reach the rows of /config. The Desktop app's font settings aren't among them, so a mod can't read or change the app font. That rules out a per-project font, a /font command or a toggle.

Proposed Solution

Add the Desktop font family and size as /config rows on the desktop surface. Mods would then get them through $.config.set and the config.set / config.describe events, with the usual deny and lock rules.

Alternative Solutions

A mod can use $.process to edit the terminal app's config file. That is an outside script rather than the mod API, and it does nothing for Desktop.

Priority

Low - Nice to have

Feature Category

Configuration and settings

Use Case Example

A mod that registers /font reading and /font code, switching the Desktop font between a proportional font for long prose and a code font for diffs.

Additional Context

  • Companion request: #100801 (font props for the trees a mod draws).
  • Related: #98801 (Desktop font picker limited to some fonts).
