[Bug] Chat history lost after exit for update installation

Bug Description
lost my entire chat history for the past 2 weeks of work because claude suggested I exit to install an update but that just erased everything and now i have to start all over. Resume showed my previous session but i couldn't access it. Obviously claude couldn't help me find the non-existent chat history either.
