Problem Statement

After a recent desktop app update, the project list in the Code tab sidebar shows the full disk path of each folder next to the project name (e.g. C:\Users\<name>\Desktop\<project>). The project name alone is enough to tell projects apart, so the path just adds visual noise, makes the sidebar look cluttered and takes up horizontal space. There is currently no setting to turn it off.

Proposed Solution

Add a setting to hide the path, or show it only on hover as a tooltip. Showing the path only when two projects share the same name would also work well.

Alternative Solutions

None. There is no setting for this, and plugins/mods can't change the app sidebar.

Priority

Low - Nice to have

Use Case Example

  1. I open the Claude desktop app and go to the Code tab
  2. The sidebar lists my projects, each with its full path, e.g. C:\Users\<name>\Desktop\<project>
  3. With this option I would see just the project names, a cleaner and more compact list, and could still check the path on hover if I ever need it
