Problem Statement

Claude Desktop (Windows) now lets my phone start local sessions: Settings → Claude Code → Remote Control → "Allow your phone and claude.ai to start sessions here", with a Folders list. That list is capped at 6 folders.

I actively work in more than 6 repos, so I have to choose which projects are reachable from my phone and leave the rest out.

Proposed Solution

Raise or remove the 6-folder cap on the Remote Control folder list. Alternatively, let a pinned parent folder offer its subfolders (or the git repos under it) as start locations in the mobile picker.

Alternative Solutions

Pin the parent folder (all my repos live under one Projects folder), start there from the phone, and have Claude switch into the target repo mid-session. This loads the repo's CLAUDE.md, project settings and .mcp.json, but:

  • the repo's auto-memory is not loaded, so the session lacks everything learned in that repo;
  • project SessionStart hooks do not run.

So a switched session is noticeably weaker than one started in the repo, and the workaround doesn't replace a real slot.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Use Case Example

  1. Away from my PC, I want to start work on one of ~20 repos under C:\Users\<me>\Projects.
  2. In the mobile app I tap New session, pick my desktop, and the repo I want isn't among the 6 listed folders.
  3. With a higher cap (or subfolder browsing), I'd pick the repo directly and get a full session with its memory and hooks.

Additional Context

Related: #96867 (starting Desktop sessions from mobile, where the 6-folder list shipped) and #88404 (exposing the full project registry as a picker).
