Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

I keep maybe 2-4 claudes running at the same time, on 2 different copies of the same checked out branch (~/repo/copy1 and ~/repo/copy2). And sometimes I want to resume a claude from 2 weeks old.

So in all these cases claude thinks it's on a certain branch, but the underlying branch has almost certainly changed. As a result, claude will often make a mistake with a checkin because the branch has switched out from under itself.

Proposed Solution

I've programmed my claude to add assumed directory and branch to every recap :

※ recap: dir ~/repo/orc-app, branch gillies-prompt-catalog. Goal: document Orchestra's AI prompts; the catalog docs are committed on gillies-prompt-catalog. (disable recaps in /config)

I think this is a feature that might be helpful to others, so maybe it becomes the default behavior.

Alternative Solutions

Note that the directory and branch doesn't have to come first, in fact, it may be better to put it last in the recap.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Additional Context

This is analagous to the type of command-prompt that many people use with shell. Often people have a shell prompt that looks like :

${user}@${host}:${directory}:${branch}:${aws_profile} >

And it helps very-much to keep track of where we are and what we are pointing at so we don't do something dangerous (especially with regard to ${aws_profile} == PROD.)
